Mesa Falls

We are on vacation!! We are spending a week in Cody, visiting family. We decided to drive up through Yellowstone Park and take a turn at being tourists. On our way up through Idaho, we took the Mesa Falls scenic byway. It was beautiful. There are two major waterfalls which are called Upper and Lower Mesa Falls.


This is a picture up at the Upper Falls. It was really rocky up there and the falls were pretty far away.


Here are the Lower Falls. It was beautiful down here! The canyon wall at the bottom of the falls has its own micro-habitat with moss and algae that normally wouldn't grow there. And there is a constant rainbow from the spray.
