Bookstore Fun

One of the fun things about working in a bookstore is meeting all the authors who come to do visits and book signings. Since I started working last year I'm guessing I've met around 15 or 20 authors, including Shannon Hale (who's won a Newbery Honor) and Jessica Day George. I have been amazed to discover how many published authors (many of them well known) live in Utah.

This past Saturday I met Lisa Mangum, author of the Hourglass Door. She's a funny, down-to-earth person. In fact, all the authors I've met have been down-to-earth which makes me like them even more. If you like reading young adult fiction (that's all I read. In fact I know a lot of adults who prefer young adult over adult books) I recommend her book, it was interesting and left me in high anticipation of her next book which comes out next year.
