Ferron Camping Trip (August 13-15)

This is Ferron Reservoir, which is in the Manti-Lasal Mountains in eastern Utah. Matt's family goes camping here every year and has been doing so for several years. Matt and I weren't able to go last year, so this was my first trip to Ferron.

Here's part of our campsite.

Brett and Cody filleted all the fish for our Friday Fish Fry. I thought it would be gross to watch but it wasn't so bad. The gross part would have been if I had watched them gut the fish...thankfully I wasn't around for that part!

Near our campsite was a place called Duck Fork. The boys liked fishing here because of the big tiger trout.

Matt, the master rock skipper. Isn't the water beautiful?!

Matt took this beautiful picture of a thistle. He really likes thistle...it's Scotland's national flower.

There was a trail around Duck Fork that Matt and I walked along while the others fished. It was a fun little trail that wound in and out of the trees and over little wooden bridges. This gigantic decaying tree was near the end. Notice my pose is more like an arm stretch...the tree was nasty and covered with spider webs...ewww!

Posing for a picture on a rock was my idea. It brings back memories of all the times my mom had my siblings and me pose on big rocks in the mountains. This picture's for you Mom!

Kris, Courtney, Cody, Casey, and Brett in the back row and Cade and Collin in the front. These last two pictures were taken after a hike that included a stinky dead sheep by the trail, shooting b b guns at anything and everything, and Brett starting a revolution with the boys that consisted of pushing down tall trees that were already dead.

In fact, here's a picture of Brett and Cody after they pushed down a tree together. Manly men!!
