30 down, 10 to go!

So I'm in my third trimester...the final stretch! Matt says the real countdown begins because I'm at thirty weeks - only ten more to go!!

Matt laughed at me last week as I bent over to open the rice bucket because I had to get into "position." Meaning I had to spread my legs apart in order to get a better stance to unscrew the lid. At least I'm not waddling yet! But bending over is definately becoming difficult. If I bend over to pick something up or put my shoes on I can't breathe. And it takes more work to get off the couch or out of bed. Matt's been very helpful by giving me boosts each time I try to stand up.

Well it's pretty much official that we are going to name our little boy Jude Everett McEachern. We've already started calling him Jude. In fact we've been thinking about this name for over a year now. One day before my first pregnancy Matt and I found ourselves talking about baby names. We decided we really liked the name Zoe for a girl. In my opinion, girl names are easier to come up with so when we started thinking of boy names, I couldn't really come up with any that I liked. Matt started listing some boy names that I wasn't to hot about but then he mentioned Jude. I was leary about that name because anytime someone would say "Hey, Jude!" they would probably start singing the Beatles song. But over time I've grown to love the name Jude and figure that if your name's going to be in a song, that's a pretty good song to be in :)

Here's a little name history/meaning:
*Jude has a Hebrew origin and means "praise" or "praised one."
*Jude was one of the first 12 apostles and wrote the "Epistle of Jude" in the New Testament.
*Jude is the Catholic patron saint of lost causes. When Matt told me this, I thought "wait a second, I don't want our kid to be a lost cause!" But we decided it means he helps lost causes. :)

As you can see, Jude is continuing to grow. I know he's getting closer to being "cooked" all the way because my belly button is almost non-existent. People say when your belly button pops out it's just like a turkey timer and it means the baby's done :)

  1. So we LOVE the name Jude! We were actually considering it before we found out we're having a girl. Funny thing is that this baby is also due on John Lennon's birthday... haha!
