Our little monkey turned one! Time has flown! Over the past year we have watched him roll, scoot, crawl, stand, and walk. He has smiled, laughed, cried, and been a major cheeseball. He got croup, rashes, and a handful of bumps, bruises, and scratches. He cut six teeth, grew lots of hair, had two haircuts, and several baths. Year one has been an adventure, what will year two bring?
As you can see, the whole cake experience was a bit traumatic for him. He did not like having the cake and frosting all over his hands. I tried putting some cake in his mouth so he could see that it was yummy, but he was beyond consoling. I think he was simply overwhelmed by the twenty family members who sang him "Happy Birthday" and watched him ever so closely to see how he would dive into his cake. Luckily he recovered...opening presents can do that :)
